Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Squibly (“Squibly”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a curated, parent-controlled video experience for kids through the Squibly mobile app and this website (squibly.app). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have — including the rights you hold as a parent over your child’s information.
Squibly is designed for parents. Parents create and control every child profile, and we ask for verifiable parental consent in the app before collecting or using information connected to a child’s profile.
Information we collect
- Parent account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in method when you create an account with email, Google, or Apple. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase.
- Child profile information.Details you provide when setting up your child’s profile: nickname, birthdate or age range, gender (optional), chosen Squib character, and content preferences. We intentionally collect as little as possible about your child.
- Activity and screen-time information. Videos watched, watch duration, screen-time settings and usage, and the daily digests we prepare for you based on that activity.
- Subscription information.Your subscription status and purchase history, processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play and our subscription provider RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.
- Device and usage analytics. App and website interaction data (such as screens viewed and features used), collected through PostHog to help us improve Squibly.
- Waitlist information. If you join our waitlist on this website, we collect the email address you submit.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws that protect children online:
- Child profiles can only be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, and we ask for parental consent in the app before collecting information connected to a child’s profile.
- We use a child’s information only to provide the Squibly experience the parent controls: age-appropriate recommendations, parental controls, screen-time limits, and digests.
- Squibly does not show third-party advertising to children.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade children’s personal information, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- As a parent, you may review, correct, or delete your child’s information, or withdraw your consent, at any time — in the app or by emailing hello@squibly.app.
How we use information
- Create and operate your account and your child’s profile
- Recommend age-appropriate videos and apply the parental controls and screen-time limits you set
- Prepare your daily digests and conversation starters
- Manage subscriptions, free trials, and billing status
- Send service emails such as sign-in codes and account notices
- Understand how Squibly is used so we can improve it
- Keep Squibly safe, secure, and working reliably
How we share information
We do not sell your family’s data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate Squibly, and only for that purpose:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, and hosting
- Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat — subscription purchases and entitlements
- PostHog — product analytics
These providers may only process information to provide their services to Squibly, not for their own marketing. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Squibly, our users, or others.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account or your child’s profile remains active, or as needed to provide Squibly’s services. When you delete your account, we delete the personal information associated with it — including your children’s profiles and activity — except where a law requires us to keep certain records (for example, billing records).
Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. You can review and update your account and your child’s profile in the app.
- Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account — including all child profiles and activity data — in the app under Settings → Account & Security → Delete account, or by emailing hello@squibly.app from your account email.
- Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Security
We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secured cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your family’s information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
International transfers
Squibly is operated from the Philippines and our infrastructure runs on Google Cloud. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live; wherever it is processed, we protect it as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — especially changes affecting children’s information — we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, and we will always post the latest version on this page.
